Fodness releases Spring 2022 Tennis Schedule

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University tennis head coach Kyle Fodness announced a 12-match spring season schedule, including three matches at home and one non-conference match.

The Beavers will open their season with a trip to Grand Forks, N.D., Feb. 5 and 6. There they will take on St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth, respectively, at Choice Health and Fitness. The following week, the Beavers head to Owatonna, Minn. for matches versus Southwest Minnesota State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato. They will take on the Mustangs at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 12 and the Mavericks at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13.

Bemidji State then heads home to play in two matches Feb. 18 and 19 at the Gillett Wellness Center in Bemidji, Minn. The team will take on Winona State University in an evening match, 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Upper Iowa University sat 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The Beavers will then take a week off, resuming pre-spring break play Mar. 2 in a 5:30 matchup versus the University of Minnesota Crookston at the Gillett Wellness Center.

Following a three-week break, the Beavers head back to Grand Forks, N.D. to take on Bethany Lutheran College, Mar. 26 in a 10:30 a.m. non-conference match. They get back to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Apr. 2 and 3 in Sioux Falls, S.D., taking on Augustana University and University of Sioux Falls, respectively. 

The Beavers will close out the regular season with a trip to Fargo, N.D. with matches versus University of Mary and Minnesota State University Moorhead. Matches are scheduled for Apr. 9 and 10 at 3 p.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.

Last season, the Beavers struggled to get into the win column, finishing with a 4-8 record, 4-7 in NSIC play. BSU took the first match of the year, 7-0, versus UMC but was back and forth for the rest of the season. In post-season play, BSU fell, 4-0, to Augustana, who ranked second in the NCAA Central Region.

Home matches for Bemidji State will be held in the Gillett Wellness Center and are free to the public.
