Devine and Remitz to be featured on Northern Sun Showcase

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State University All-American throwers Sheena Devine (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) and Joe Remitz (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) will be featured on the next Northern Sun Showcase television show. The spotlight will debut on the 30-minute show Friday, Feb. 8th at 7:30 p.m. on Fox Sports Net (FSN) North. Replays will air Saturday Feb. 9 at 1:30 a.m. and again at 5 a.m.

Devine is currently on a string of 18 shot put events without being defeated by a single NCAA Division II opponents. The three-time All-American is the defending NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor shot put champion. Remitz is a four-time All-American in the shot and has finished in the top six in the event at the indoor and outdoor championship in each of the last two seasons.

In addition to being two of the elite track and field student-athletes in the country and teammates on the BSU track and field team, the pair has been engaged to be married for nearly a year.

The third Northern Sun Showcase of the 2007-08 athletic year will also highlight the current NSIC basketball and wrestling seasons with additional looks at Southwest Minnesota State University football standout Tyler Fischer and Northern State University men’s basketball coach Don Meyer legendary career and recent victory that tied Dean Smith for the NCAA men's basketball record of 879 coaching victories.

Bemidji area Charter Communications customers can catch the Showcase on cable channel 27, while FSN North appears on channel 56 for Paul Bunyan Television Customers.

The Beavers are in the midst of their 2008 indoor season. The team returns home to host the Beaver Classic Saturday, Feb. 9. Competition is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center.
