BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University track and field team gears up to host the 2014 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championships Feb. 28-March1. Events are set to get underway at 12 p.m. Friday and continue Saturday at 10 a.m.
BSU has placed two individuals and a team in the in the top 25 in the NSIC in four events this season. At the BSU Twilight, Nikki Anderson (So., Becker, Minn.), Chloe Miller (Fr., Baxter, Minn.), Sammie Taube (So., Fairbanks, AK.), and Nicole Szech (Fr., Long Prairie, Minn.) placed third in the women’s 4x400 relay. The time of four minutes 22.77 ranked 14th in the NSIC.
While at the 2014 Falcon Winter Classic, Hailey Horob (So., Williston, N.D.) and Kaneeshia Johnson (So., Rosemount, Minn.) did well enough in their events to make the top 25. Horob placed second in pole vault with a height of 10-10, to be 19th in the NSIC. Johnson took home first in the women’s triple jump, 33’ 11.25”.
