FARGO, N.D. (Schlanser Track Complex) – The Bemidji State Women’s Track and Field team wrapped up day one of two at the Lyle Hokanson Classic at North Dakota State University Friday. The Bemidji State Throwers participated in the hammer throw and Freshman Christa Benson competed in the heptathlon.
Bemidji State Throwers Ciara Brewster, Kaitlyn Christianson, Regan Grube, Molly O’Neil, Samara Tobeck and Samantha Velde all competed in the Hammer Throw.
Velde owned the top finish for the Beavers as she placed in 17th out of 52 participants. Her throw of 151 feet, 6 inches was just a couple feet shy of her personal-best toss set last weekend. Christianson, Grube, O’Neil and Tobeck all set personal-best throws.
Freshman multi runner Christa Benson completed day one of the Heptathlon. Benson will look to move up the leaderboards in day two tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
