SUPERIOR, Wis. -- The Bemidji State University women’s track and field team saw multiple program records fall Saturday afternoon as the team competed at the Twin Ports Invite in Superior, Wis. Senior Christa Benson, freshman Kylie Monson, and the 4x1600-meter relay team of Ashley Herdering, Allyna Storms, Ryne Prigge, and Kristen Petron each set Beavers records in their respective events.

Benson took first in the 200m hurdles with a time of 29.11 to set the program record, while also taking second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.48 and third in the high jump with a mark of 4-feet-11.00-inches. Monson took first in the triple jump with a BSU-record mark of 36-11.75, while also taking 6th in the long jump with a mark of 16-03.25 and ninth in the 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 10.68.

The BSU 4x1600m relay team not only finished first and set the program record with a time of 23:20.30 but also set the University of Wisconsin-Superior facility record.

In all, Bemidji State took six event wins. Freshman Beatrice Kjelland earned a win in the 60m dash with a time of 7.92, sophomore Venice Stewart won the 400m dash with a personal record time of 1:00.21, and freshman Zoe Christensen won the weight throw with a toss of 50-02.50.

Bemidji State returns to the track Saturday, Jan. 26 at the UND Indoor Open held in Grand Forks, N.D. The field events will begin at 12 p.m. with the running events following at 12:30 p.m.
