Handful of BSU Top 10 marks set during day two of NSIC Championships

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The second day of the 2022 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships saw a handful of Bemidji State University program top 10 marks set. Sophomore Mary Goodwin led the pack with her third 3000m steeplechase record broken this season and added one of BSU’s six points through the meet.

Goodwin took eighth in the 3000m steeplechase Friday with the BSU outdoor record time of 11:29.76. Her eighth-place finish earned the first point for BSU on the day.

Senior Aneesa Tucker and sophomore Emily Curtice brought in three points for BSU in the heptathlon. Tucker led the way with two points and a sixth-place finish of 4,382, which ranks ninth all-time at BSU. Curtice brought in one point with a seventh-place finish of 4,355. Curtice, Tucker and sophomore Natalie Fultz, who finished 10th with a score of 3,121, all set personal records in the event.

Sophomore Alaina Hall took sixth in the 100-meter dash during the preliminaries with a time of 12.06. Her time ranks fourth all-time at BSU as she now holds four of the program’s top 10 marks in the event. Hall was one of two Beavers to qualify for the finals on Saturday, joining freshman Dynia Lewis in the 100m hurdles. Lewis also took sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.38, which ranks second to herself all-time at BSU. Hall and Lewis have secured one point each with the qualifying for the finals rounds.

The Beavers set 14 personal records marks through the first two days of the NSIC Outdoor Championships. The final day of the meet will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D.
